Step Three: Stop Trying & Start Training!

Have you ever read or watched something & felt like they were talking directly to you?

The original title of this post was "Step Three: Work for it!"

I decided to change it last Tuesday night when I tuned into “Reset Live”, a free live stream event by Dave Ramsey.

Talk about motivation!

One of their guest speakers, Craig Groeschel, was the person I felt was talking to me. Everything he said really hit home! If you get a chance to watch the replay, I highly recommend it.

Obviously, their main focus was about taking control of your personal finances, but it all pertained to everyday life too. He came out on stage and the first question he asked,

"Who do you want to be?"

I thought this was so interesting & as he continued I realized he was giving me the kick in the butt I so needed! Take a moment & write down your answer.

My answer?

I want to be physically fit, emotionally stable & financially set.

A lot of times we save our big life changes for the start of the new year, new month, or new week. We want to become a healthier version of ourselves but instead of starting now, we decide to wait until it's a new something! Why do we do this? If we can't start now, why would we start later?! He continued to share two definitions. The first one is where I think most of society is stuck. The second is where we all need to be in order to become our best selves.

Trying is an attempt to change with minimal commitment.

Training is a wholehearted commitment to achieving a specific result.

Joshua Tree, California October 2019

When you decide who you want to be, (stop trying) start training, you will know who you are & you will know what to do.

Today, train for your body, train for your mind, train for your finances, and become who you want to be!

Don't wait because it's easier right now than it will be tomorrow (or next Monday)!

This photo was taken on October 26, 2019 in Joshua Tree. This was less than a month after my heart surgery & right after I got released. It was hard. I struggled. My husband encouraged me and I kept moving. If I hadn't started my exercise journey then it would have just gotten harder. At least I was a good sport (when the camera was pulled out). I chose to use these photos from Joshua Tree because I healed so much during this trip. If you ever get a chance to visit the desert know that it will heal your soul.

Thanks for showing up every week and reading my thoughts. I hope you are finding value in my posts & I can't wait to hear from you. Follow me on Instagram @always_willow & don't forget to subscribe so you never miss another post.

Always,

Erikka
