Once Upon a Fall

Our 2020 Fall Bucket List.

'Tis the season for pumpkins, spice, and crisp fresh air. While I very much love summer, fall is my favorite season. The cooler air, fall foliage & fashion all hold a special place in my heart but this October my husband & I will be celebrating 2 years of marriage. We both love this season so much we came up with a bucket list this year. We've got big plans & can't wait to share them with you! Check out our ideas below & let me know if you have similar plans or if there is something different on your bucket list.

  • Camping- We have been throwing around the idea of investing in a pull-behind camper because we both love to travel & would love to see the United States. While this investment piece is still in our future I don't think we will find one before the end of the season...so we have decided to do it the old fashioned way with a tent & sleeping bag. I am so excited I can't stand it. It's been a long time since I've gone camping & couldn't imagine doing it with anyone but him.

  • Hike-Nature has been calling to me (or me to it) which I think why we decided to camp this year. I cannot wait to get into the mountains to view the fall foliage this year.

  • Fall photoshoot- A few weeks ago we got to reminisce about our wedding with our (wedding) photographer & DJ & decided we wanted to do a fall photoshoot at our home. It is stunning in the fall and I can't wait to work with her again. Check her out at Rustic Design Photography on Facebook.

  • Decorate the front porch for Autumn- It feels like I literally just finished decorating our porch, but it's got to change with the seasons. I'm planning to add lots of pumpkins, mums, a fall wreath, maybe some cornstalks & DIY projects.

  • Bake an apple pie-I don't want to brag but two years ago I baked an amazing apple pie & thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. I have made it a goal this year to spend a cool, fall day baking a delicious apple pie alone.

  • Host a baking night-Last fall I spent almost every weekend at my sisters baking pumpkin rolls. It was so much fun. Our mom & grandmother even joined a few times so it was a great bonding experience. We plan to keep the tradition alive this fall plus, we extended an invitation to our girlfriends. We are so excited to share & learn new fall recipes, plus the guys are excited to play pool in the basement. Check out my delicious apple pie & pumpkin rolls.

  • Enjoy a favorite fall drink - I heard Starbucks released the Pumpkin Spice Latte! I haven't made it there yet mainly because I shouldn't drink caffeine. I did, however, just learn that they offer a decaf espresso! I don't know how I feel about this, but I'll be giving it a try. I've also stocked my tea drawer with some amazing fall flavors.

  • Host a Harry Potter Movie Night - Zach & I (& our friends) love Harry Potter! We actually haven't watched it since winter which is a new record for us... It's time to bust out the books & DVD set. We will be having many, well at least eight, HP movie nights this fall.

  • Carve a pumpkin - Every year we get pumpkins but we never take the time to carve them. This year will be different...or the same. We shall see.

  • Chili & fall movie night...perhaps "You've Got Mail" with candles (I've never seen it).- We have been slicing & freezing our peppers & jalapenos from our garden specifically for our fall chili. There is nothing better than a bowl of chili on a chilly afternoon. If you have any favorite fall movie suggestions please share.

I would love to hear your fall plans! If you are interested in following this journey be sure to follow me on Instagram @always_willow & don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you never miss a post.

Always,

Erikka
