My Everyday Makeup Routine

Who doesn't love a fresh face in the morning? Wakeup & makeup, right? For me, makeup completes my look & it makes me feel ready to take on the day. I do, however, have three issues with makeup:
I don't like to spend a lot of time putting on makeup. I like to keep my routine quick & simple. It takes me less than 10 minutes to apply this look & gets me out the door fast, especially when I'm in a hurry.
I have sensitive skin & eyes so I have had a lengthy trial & error process in order to find brands that I can actually wear. Irritation is the worst, & the last thing you want to do is spend a ton of money on products that don't work for you. If you can try before you buy, I highly recommend that you do so!
Why is makeup so damn expensive??? I used to walk into Sephora or Ulta & literally begin sweating because I knew that I wasn't walking out without spending at least $100; Which is usually only two or three products. Luckily, I have found some cost-effective staples that won't break the bank.
It only took me until I was 30 to find a way to "make" makeup work for me... All of the products are buildable, meaning that you can always add more to achieve the desired look & coverage. They are also cruelty-free, which in my opinion should be the industry standard, not a choice. I encourage you to do your research on the products in your makeup bag right now. You may be surprised. All right enough with all that, let's get to the list!

This is all the makeup that I own, minus a few other shades of lipsticks!
PRIMER: This was a product I had never even heard of until I was about 27. If you are like the old me then let me explain the importance of a primer. It acts as an extra barrier between your skin & your makeup! It smooths the surface of the skin by filling in any large pores (which prevents breakouts), helps your makeup last longer & helps even out your skin tone. If you wear foundation, you don't want to skip this step.
I use the VFX PRO Primer by Farmasi. It's silky soft with no scent. It pairs well with Farmasi's CC cream.
FOUNDATION: Honestly, this was a product I hardly used because most brands have a specific scent & that would be a problem for me. The scent would cause migraines or just plain stink in my opinion. I also didn't understand the concept of covering up a blemish while knowing it would cause more blemishes. Thank goodness for a good primer!
I am currently this CC Cream or Color Control by Farmasi in the shade light to medium. It does have a slight "baby powder" scent. Another reason this product is amazing is a little goes a looonnggg way! You can't beat the price.
CONCEALER: I have watched so many makeup tutorials on concealer & let me tell you, there are countless ways to use this product. I, of course, keep it simple and don't use much. A couple of dots below the eye and just below the brow to help brighten my face.
I use Full Coverage Liquid Concealer by Farmasi in the shade light ivory.
BRONZER: I have had this Powder Contour Kit pallet in the shade Light to Medium for a while now. It's a great investment piece these shades work well with my skin tone. I do favor the lower middle shade the most. It's called "Fawn" & it's pictured next to the blush.
BLUSH: I have received so many compliments on this blush. It's called "Blank" & is the first shade below. It is a part of the Blush Trio in the shade Pool Party by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have had this trio just as long as the contour pallet & haven't touched the other two shades.
EYESHADOW: Here is a great tip, I use my blush and contour pallets as eye shadows. This saves me storage space and money, plus the shades are beautiful.
EYEBROWS: I so badly want to get microblading on my eyebrows done, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. This Brown Definer pencil in the shade Taupe has been an amazing tool for shaping my brows each morning. The triangular tip is great for applying hair-like strokes. Plus, it comes with a brow brush at the other end which is great for on the go. I also have Dipbrow gel that came in a pack a while back. I use it to set my brows and to help give them a feathered look.
MASCARA: I am currently using both of these mascaras by Farmasi together. Which seems not so simple, but I promise it's worth it. I also want to point out that both of these can be used separatey and look great.
First, I apply one coat of Zen & let dry. The brush and the formula do a great job of separating the lashes to avoid any clumping or well, crazy angles. I then proceed with the Extreme Curl. This product adds length and volume and makes my lashes look great! It is buildable so you can add multiple layers until you've achieve the desired look.
LIPSTICK: I first came across DOSE of Colors back in 2014 on the internet, I think through a YouTube tutorial. The company was only a year old and not even sold in stores at this point. They are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free & paraben-free. I was sold & bought my first tube of Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Berry Me. It was my shade. I began buying other shades and grew my lipstick collection. I came across the shade Stone, which is a dusty pink mauve. It's the perfect neutral and now I wear it every day. It stays on all day and doesn't transfer as long as you avoid oils, chapsticks and allow it to dry after application. It's also easy to remove! Just add some coconut oil and a makeup cloth (I prefer the ones by NORWEX) & you are golden.
SETTING SPRAY: I don't waste my money on a makeup setting spray. I simply add my Rose or Frankincense toner (which is a vital part of my skincare routine) to a spray bottle and it works great. Use what you already have. I have been using NYR Organic since 2013 & just adore this company. They have set high standards for their products & production & for that I am grateful. I will tell you more about them when I share my skincare routine. Below is my website. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I do also want to give a shout out to my beauty influencer, Ashley. She introduced me to Farmasi & has taught me so much about makeup. She has a Facebook group called Two Moons & Me. Makeup & More. It is a beautiful community filled with kind-hearted women empowering each other. She has done an amazing job making the group a safe comfortable space for all & I invite you to join. She touches on everything from makeup to jewelry to baking to motherhood.
If you are interested in learning how I apply these products, let me know on Instagram. I am considering going on IGTV or YouTube if requested.
Until then, stay inside and stay safe! Talk to you soon!
Always,
Erikka
