Currently Channeling My Inner Joanna Gaines

As many of you know, we have completed the major work in our living room- paint, floor, light fixtures etc. It looks amazing but I am not sharing any photos just yet because I am currently channeling my inner Joanna Gaines.

I have to add the final details before it is worthy of sharing on the internet...

...okay, here is a sneak peek from our sunroom.

I'm channeling my inner Jo because I need to find a way to pull it all together to feel like home.

What's left?

Below is a to-do list that I have left for this project:

Furniture

  • Area rug- I am hesitant about investing in a nice rug given our cats' history with carpet. None the less it is necessary to add warmth & coziness to this room. I am considering Ruggable.com so I will be able to wash it if there are any accidents. If you have had a personal experience with their products please let me know what you think!

  • Coffee table- We have a coffee table (&end tables) that I found on amazon. They are cute but I'm not feeling them in this space anymore. I am looking for a round, natural, possibly live edge piece.

  • Credenza (tv stand) - I just found a beautiful cherry wood piece on Facebook marketplace over the weekend & I picked it up today. I paid $60 for it and can't wait to get creative with this one. DIY project up next!

  • end tables (possibly)- We'll see.

  • Sectional sofa- same, we'll see....probably not lol.

Decor

  • Frames-I have been collecting artwork from my travels over the last few years. They have never been hung up so I am excited to pull those out and possibly hang a gallery wall. I also want to get some of our wedding pictures hung up as well.

  • Shelving - This may turn into a DIY project if I don't find the shelving that I'm looking for.

  • Vases- I want to get large floor vases and/or lanterns to sit beside our fireplace.

DIY

  • Refurbishing furniture- The credenza is for sure getting updated. I'm not sure if any of my other pieces will get placed in this room yet.

  • Shelving-

  • Artwork- I want to pull out my paint supplies & create my own masterpiece to add to the gallery wall.

  • Throw pillow cases- I may put together a few pillowcases for our throw pillows with help from my sister-in-law, Emily. This will help with some pops of color in our very neutral room....eh, I may stick with neutral pillowcases too, though so we'll see.

Plants

  • Zz plant

  • Snake plant

  • Peace lilly

  • Dracaena

These are all low-light plants. Our home has an open concept layout with the living room dead center. There are no windows in this specific room. We do get some light from the front door and the sunroom. For this reason, I am only going to stick low-light plants in here. I do have a few fake plants (ficus tree & large Chinese evergreen bush) that I want to move downstairs since there is even less light there.

We started watching Fixer Upper last week and have gained the motivation to get this done. We started painting our spare bedroom this past weekend & I'm already feeling so accomplished.

Check out the pieces of furniture I've acquired over the last few weeks below and stay tuned for the completed projects by subscribing to my blog. You can also follow me on Instagram for day-to-day progress on these projects @always_willow.

Always,

Erikka
