Confession

We worked so hard last week trying to get our living room completely finished by today so I could share the updates with you, but it just didn't happen. Since it was a holiday weekend, we didn't have as much time to work as we would normally. We also hosted our first 4th of July cookout. Thankfully the weather was beautiful so we spent most of the weekend outside. We are finishing up the smaller things tonight & we still have to order our trim. Hoping to have Part II for you next week. In the meantime, enjoy this short post about a confession I'd like to share with you from this past week.

About three weeks ago I shared a post named "Movement Is A Gift"- it was about how my perspective of exercise & how thankful I was to be able to move. Exercise is a funny thing in that sometimes the routine gets interrupted, life gets in the way. I always have to find my way back, but the thing that varies is the amount of time I step away.

On Sunday, it marked one week since I last exercised. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we are currently using my workout space for tools and materials during this living room remodel, but it also has to do with the late nights working after work & the family get-togethers. I have also been dealing with some added stress from work since taxes are due next week. For those that don't know, I help run a few of our family businesses, so I'm kind of always working. It is understandable to me that my body has required more sleep & rest than movement so that is what I gave it. I am getting better at recognizing the signs it shows so I'm quick to listen & obey. I have been feeling the itch to work out these last two days so in the morning I am waking up an hour earlier and getting it done!

Maybe you have also had to step away from your exercise routine during the holiday weekend. If your body is ready, start tomorrow with me. Tag me @always_willow in your Instagram post with the exercise that got you back on track this week. Don't wait until next Monday, because then it will be too late.
